Scaff Haus is a response to the growing need for more space without high cost and timely planning approvals.
Using scaffolding as the structural element it ensures that Scaff Haus is quick to construct and gives it a unique appearance. Scaff Haus is designed using a standard 3m scaffold pole ensuring that it can be constructed under permitted development and therefore does not require planning permission.
Once the scaffold structure has been formed, a timber pod is inserted into it. The timber pod is made using standard timber studs clad in OSB chipboard, giving the Scaff Haus its contemporary appearance. All faces of the timber pod are fully insulated and lined with a damp proof membrane to ensure the Scaff Haus is warm and dry. The front elevation is then completed with an aluminium bi-folding door set.
This forms Scaff Haus Original. However, its construction means it’s adaptable and can include any additions or change in dimensions – we are always up for a challenge!
One of these additional elements is the corten steel roof as shown in the images. Suspended off the scaffold structure, the sloping roof and rear elevation protects Scaff Haus from the elements, and allows it to integrate into any setting.
Another item Scaff Haus offer is a integrated log burner. This gives a heat source throughout those cold months allowing Scaff Haus to be used all year round.
Both additional items can be seen on our PROJECTS page on the Buni Scaff Haus.
